Access workspaces with macros

Assign a combination to launch, close or toggle a task.

What a workspace macro is

A shortcut to a specific action on a workspace. For example, open your meeting setup without finding it in the list. You do not need to program a sequence.

Create a macro

  1. Go to Settings → Macros.
  2. Select the workspace.
  3. Choose launch, close or toggle for the action you need.
  4. Assign an unused combination.
  5. Save and test it with the correct workspace.

Understand toggle

Toggle changes between the expected states for that workspace. Review its behavior before using it from memory, especially when it involves closing windows. Save open documents before testing a close macro.

Keep macros organized

Disable a macro you no longer need; keep it available to enable again later. Review destinations after deleting or reorganizing workspaces. Macros are retained per computer. For window controls independent of a task, use shortcuts.
