Find and reuse your Windows clipboard history

How can I recover text, images or files that I copied earlier?

A task you can try

Copy a project reference and a screenshot, find them in history and pin the reference. Pause recording before copying private information, then check pinned entries before clearing history.

How to set it up

  1. Open Utilities and enable clipboard history if available in your plan.
  2. Copy a non-private test item and find it using search or filters.
  3. Check whether selecting an entry pastes it or prepares it for pasting.
  4. Pin useful entries and configure exclusions, limits and recording.

When it helps

For repeated text, project references and copied images or files you want to recover without searching the original source again.

What to check first

The history is stored on that computer. Private-content signals do not replace pausing or excluding sensitive apps. Clearing unpinned items retains pinned entries. Sharing clipboard content with an assistant can send context to its provider.

Questions before you start

Does clearing history remove pinned entries?

Clearing unpinned items keeps pinned entries. Review and remove them separately when needed.

Do I need an AI provider for the clipboard?

No. The Utilities tools do not require a conversation with an AI model. Their availability still depends on your plan.
