Run Windows workspace actions with mouse gestures

How can I switch desktops or rotate windows with a mouse gesture?

A task you can try

Assign desktop switching and window rotation to stable directions. Test the center area and opening delay so ordinary mouse use does not select an action accidentally.

How to set it up

  1. Enable gestures and choose the trigger in Settings.
  2. Assign a few familiar actions to directions.
  3. Hold the trigger, wait for the wheel and check the highlighted action.
  4. Adjust delay, center area and profiles after a simple test.

When it helps

For actions you repeat while your hand is on the mouse, without remembering a long list of keyboard combinations.

What to check first

Available positions and optional intelligent adaptation depend on the plan. Check conflicts with mouse buttons and understand cleanup actions before assigning anything that closes windows.

Questions before you start

Do gestures need intelligent adaptation?

No. You can assign actions manually. Optional adaptation and its availability are separate.

Can side buttons conflict with my browser?

Yes. Unmodified side buttons can replace Back and Forward. Review your shortcuts and use modifiers if needed.
