Talk to the voice assistant

Ask for help with tasks, control context and review proposed actions.

Prepare a conversation

In Settings → Assistant, configure the conversation, recognition and voice services available to your plan. Check the microphone and activation mode. Use your wake word or assigned trigger.

Make a specific request

Name the task and destination: “Open my meeting workspace” or “Move this window to my work desktop.” Check which window or desktop was understood, especially when saying “here” or “this.” Window selection may be shown with a frame; correct it before an action if it does not match.

Continue and stop

Conversation modes support ending at pauses, holding a control or toggling listening. Follow-up conversation can allow another question without repeating the wake word. Review interruption settings if speakers cause false activations while the assistant responds.

Context and autonomy

Choose whether to share window titles, the active address or screenshots where available. Select an autonomy level: it changes which actions run directly and which you review first. Do not assume every step always asks for confirmation. Use Undo when offered and review the result.

Local or provider voices depend on your configuration; an unavailable voice may use a fallback. For written conversations and workspace drafts, see chat.
