Capture and update a workspace

Turn your current windows into an environment you can reopen.

When to capture

Capture an already prepared desktop instead of adding every tool individually. You can also update an existing workspace from a new capture.

Capture step by step

  1. Prepare windows and save your documents.
  2. Open Capture workspace or use its shortcut.
  3. Review included desktops and windows.
  4. Check detected pages, folders, projects and placement.
  5. Exclude unwanted entries and fix incomplete information.
  6. Name the workspace and confirm saving.

In live review, moving or snapping windows updates the proposal. Temporarily clearing the view helps inspect it; excluded windows are not thereby closed.

Update an existing workspace

Review recognised entries, additions and changes. A window being closed now does not mean you want to delete its saved item. Save once the proposal is complete.

The assistant can help within the review when available; the proposal remains visible before confirmation.

Capture limits

Capture is not a backup of unsaved work or application memory. Tab and resource detection depends on the program; correct information that cannot be detected.

An Office document reference does not guarantee restoration of its active sheet or tab. Cancelling review does not save a workspace.

Continue with rearrange.
